Systems Operating

Lately my computer is acting a little strange. Sometimes for no reason at all a lot of hard drive activity will begin to occur. I'll notice it because I can hear the little click click sound the C drive makes and will see the hard drive activity light flashing incessantly on the front of the tower.

I remember when I first got this PC it used to do the same thing and I spent a lot of time tweaking windows until I finally had it working really well. I thought I had vista all figured out and squared away and everything was fine and dandy.

But I guess some recent update changed things. Cause now that old annoyance is back and I don't know how to get rid of it this time. Pretty much everything that can be off is already off.

Maybe it's time to upgrade to windows 7. I probably should've done it a long time ago. I got the disk for free from dell even though my PC shipping with vista. The upgrade your operating system disk was free. It's been sitting in my desk for a good 2 years now and I've yet to do anything other than look at it and put it back in the desk. Just don't want the hassle. Who knows, windows 7 could do the same damn thing after I go to all that trouble. It's certainly not perfect. I miss windows 98 - those were the days.
