I love the show 'Chopped'. Watch it religiously. It's very interesting to see the chefs get unusual ingredients and be tasked with transforming them or otherwise utilizing them in unexpected ways. It's one of the main reasons I love the show so much.

It's also what bugs me so much about 'Chopped Canada'. It's never metnioned that transformation is excepted and it never really happens. The chefs get the unusual ingredients, but they simply cook them, adding their own flavors from the pantry.

What's the deal with that?

Is 'Chopped Canada' prohibited from demanding transformation or are Canadian chefs simply lacking in creativity?

Either way, it's a shame. Because without the transformation factor the show is a whole lot less interesting.
